Down South Jazzband stands for 'Old Time Jazz' from the 'Roaring Twenties'. They try to play the repertoire of Bix Beiderbecke, Muggsy Spanier and Eddie Condon in an original as possible way that matches their unique line-up. In addition to contra bass and drums, the rhythm section consists of a combination of guitar and banjo. Giving the orchestra its unique sound with many solo opportunities for the guitar in the same style of the popular New Orleans band 'Tuba Skinny'.
